Visitation Guidelines for Indoor Visitor’s Lounge

Our sisters and staff embody the principles of Ora et Labora “Prayer and Work.” We have a willing heart to serve on God’s behalf with a spirit of excellence . . .

In a special way, sisters live the Benedictine spirituality by praying daily and working to help the elderly residents of Saint Joseph’s Home for the Aged …

These sisters are housed on a sprawling campus which is based in Huntington, NY and that’s cultivated for their religious community and resident’s well-being …

Matthew • 16:26

“This is what I have observed to be good: that it is appropriate for a person to eat, to drink and to find satisfaction in their toilsome labor under the sun during the few days of life God has given them—for this is their lot.”

Ecclesiastes • 5:18

“Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too.”

Philippians • 2:4

St. Joseph, great patron and protector of the St. Joseph’s Home For tThe Aged. On this, your Feast Day, we thank you for all you have done for us since the beginning of our foundation. Today, following in the footsteps of our founderess, once again we wish to entrust ourselves and our home to your special care and protection for the years to come. Moved by the Holy Spirit, we now entrust ourselves wholeheartedly to your loving protection and we pray.

St. Joseph, you were the guardian and foster father of Jesus, exercising a father’s duties over the Redeemer of all mankind – guide us faithfully on your life’s journey.

St. Joseph, silent and hidden in the Scriptures as well as hidden and silent in the love of God, once more we wish to place ourselves under your protection. You cared for the Holy Family in that you led them safely away from danger. We beg you to protect us and our home from every danger.

St. Joseph, protector of the Holy Family that now includes our Holy Mother the Church, where you exercise the same loving care for the safety of souls – continue to guard our souls from the evil snares that may safely reach the Kingdom.

Dear St. Joseph, to entrust ourselves to your care is to live at all times like the Holy Family of Nazareth. Through you, we are drawn closer in union with Jesus and Our Holy Mother. Continue to intercede for us to them that we may perfectly fulfill the greatest commandment and by loving, one another, transform this place into an Oasis of Love.

St. Joseph, pray for us. Amen.

If anyone speaks, they should do so as one who speaks the very words of God. If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen. – 1 Perter 4:11
